Acupuncture

A 5,000 year-old remedy that still works

Acupuncture has been helping people feel better for centuries. At Beyond Physical Therapy, we frequently use it as a highly effective supplement to our traditional physical therapy. Known to be a powerful method of alleviating pain, acupuncture also treats a variety of ailments, including (but certainly not limited to): gastro-intestinal, respiratory, women's issues, stress and depression. Based on re-balancing the life energy known as Qi (pronounced "chee"), acupuncture stimulates your body's own healing system. Pain and illness occur when Qi is blocked. Our experienced (and of course, licensed and certified) acupuncturists use hair-thin, sterile, disposable needles. The needles are so thin, that most patients who are needle phobic don't mind them at all. By focusing on circulating Qi through your body's pathways, known as Meridians, acupuncture helps release stagnant energy. Meridians are similar in structure and purpose to a river: nourishing and supporting all the adjoining areas. Acupuncture naturally activates the body's energy flow, effortlessly restoring health and promoting physical and emotional harmony. Most patients find acupuncture to be gentle and relaxing, resting comfortably during treatments. To enhance the treatment's effects, our acupuncturists often recommend specific herbal supplements. If you'd like to talk to an acupuncturist to find out how you might benefit from this ancient and truly amazing healing art, please call the front office to schedule your free consultation.
